The Alabama Court of Criminal Appeals needs a Judge with experience. Judge Petelos is committed to strictly interpreting the law and has shown courage and principles in her job for the last 14 years. While handling thousands of cases from shoplifting to robbery, murder, drug trafficking and child abuse, she has seen how violence and drugs affect the lives of the victims and their families. Seeing these cases day in and day out has given her the knowledge, experience and perspective that we need on the Court of Criminal Appeals.

Family
Teresa has been married to Tony Petelos for 25 years. Tony is a former member of the Alabama House of Representatives and a former Commissioner for the Alabama Department of Human Resources. Tony is now the Mayor of Hoover, Alabama. Tony and Teresa have two daughters, Angela, a junior at UAB, and Stephanie, a junior at Hoover High School. The Petelos’ are active in their church, Holy Trinity Holy Cross Cathedral in Birmingham.
Republican
Teresa Bearden Petelos is proud of her work in the Republican party. She served as Chairman of the Greater Birmingham Young Republicans in the 1980s. She has been a member of the Alabama Federation of Republican Women as well as a member on the Jefferson County Executive Committee and the State Republican Executive Committee.
